Introducing Tributary Games.
Tributary Games is a new, London-based indie games company with something exciting in the works that we can’t talk about yet. Not quite yet. Give us a few weeks, and watch this space.
What we can tell you is that we love stories, and collaborative storytelling in particular. Whether they’re told around a campfire or a D&D table, stories told in a group will mutate and evolve beyond the control of any one individual.
Our ambition with Tributary is to create innovative multiplayer games that facilitate that same feeling - social narrative games, where stories are fuelled and expanded by the push and pull of role-playing, imagination, and complex social dynamics.
And as established, we’re working on something big, and we are growing our team to do it. Tributary Games currently consists of the following co-founders:
- Samuel Partridge, Studio Lead. Formerly at Failbetter Games and Fusebox, Sam developed a critically lauded choose-your-own-adventure game, Over the Alps, with Stave Studios and has also worked on Sunless Sea and Fallen London;
- Harry Tuffs, Narrative Lead. Harry wrote and programmed his own indie RPG, A House of Many Doors, and went on to write extensively for Failbetter’s Sunless Skies and Fallen London, as well as work on Over the Alps as a narrative designer;
- Owen Newburn, Technical Lead. Formerly of Babylon Health, Owen will be bringing an immense wealth of technical experience from outside the games industry to help make our project a reality.
Over the coming weeks, we will be hiring for other roles as we grow our team to meet the demands of our project. If you are currently working in the games industry, or are interested in starting your games industry career, please take a look at our roles page. Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
